Happy Monday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we discussed symmetry. Problem set 105 was assigned and is due on Tuesday. We will also have a test tomorrow.
Science: Today we discussed simple machines and did a chapter 13 lesson 3 and 4 review sheet. Test on Thursday.
Social Studies: Today we began the story Swamp Fox about a character in the Revolutionary War.
In Mrs. D's class we read the story Mariah Keeps Cool. We took a spelling pretest over unit 32. We also went to the computer lab and the library. We also began writing our letters to soldiers in Iraq.
In Mr. H's class we looked at the words for unit 32. We copied our words three times each. We discussed hmographs in English. We read Guns for George Washington chapters 7 and 8. We also began writing our letters to soldiers in Iraq.
In Mr. P's class we wrote our spelling words 5 times each and took a pretest. Workbook pages are due on Friday. We finished up our work on colons and began working on semicolons. We read chapters 9 and 10 in Brain's Winter and completed some writing to learn activities. We also began writing our letters to soldiers in Iraq. We also went to the library.

Happy Thursday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we reviewed volume and rounding decimal numbers. Problem set 104 was assigned and is due on Friday. We also worked on an activity with our fact of the day. Ask your child what the fact of the day was today!
Science: Today we reviewed our review sheet on lesson 1 and 2. We discussed net force and we also will have a vocab test tomorrow.
Social Studies: We continued our discussion about the Revolutionary War.
*We had our LEAD Mock Trial today in the gym ask your child what he/she learned.
In Mrs. D's class we went to the library and turned in our spelling workbook pages. We also have a test tomorrow. We continued to work on our PhD reports as well. WE also worked on using some of the math tricks we learned yesterday with adding and subtracting fractions.
In Mr. H's class we graded our workbook pages in spelling and will have our final test tomorrow. We read chapters 2 and 3 in Guns for George Washington. We continued to review prepositions. We also went to the library.
In Mr. P's class we completed spelling sentences 12 due tomorrow along with test, crossword, pictures and workbook pages. We worked on completing a review of chapters 1-7 in Brian's Winter. We went to the library and we also took a non-fiction reading test.

Here is what we did today:
Math: Today in math we looked at some new ideas that Mrs. D learned at her conference on Tuesday. There are some very cool ways to do math that we did not know about!
Science: Today we discussed friction, work and power. We watched a few Brain Pop videos. We also had a worksheet on chapter 13 lesson 1 and 2 due tomorrow. Also do not forget that the vocab quiz is on Friday.
Social Studies: Today we worked on LEAD dealing with the law and situations.

Math: Today we discussed rounding mixed numbers and subtracting decimals using zeros. Problem set 102 was assigned and is due on Tuesday.
Science: Today we discussed different types of motion.
Socials Studies: Today we had LEAD dealing with three different cases of city ordinances.
In Mrs. D's class we took our spelling unit 31 pretest. We began to read the excerpt in our reading book Dear Mr. Henshaw. We also went to the computer lab and the library. Ask your child what they have chosen to write their PhD report on. They received a checklist and a timeline on Friday.
In Mr. P's class we read chapters 4 and 5 in Brian's Winter and discussed. We also did some writing activities dealing with our story. We also did some work with colons and semi-colons. We had a worksheet on colons. We completed spelling 5 times each and workbook pages were assigned and we also took a spelling pretest. We also went to the library.

Math: Today we had a visitor in class. Ask your child who came to visit us today. We also continued our work with ordered pairs. We also took a reducing fractions quiz.
Science: Today we reviewed our tests from Tuesday. We also reviewed our vocab from Wednesday and we will have a test on Friday. We also finished our chapter 11 by watching a video.
Social Studies: Today we watched a Dear America video dealing with the Revolutionary War. We also did some reading in our LEAD books.
In Mrs. D's class we turned in our Number the Stars questions and packet. We took a spelling test and we also wrote sentences dealing with our spelling words. We also introduced our PhD report that the students are beginning.
In Mr. H's class we took our unit 30 spelling test. We also took a quiz over George Washington's Socks. We completed a historical fiction writing dealing with character, setting and plot.
In Mr. P's class we read chapters 2- 3 and 4 in Brain's Winter. We also had some writing activities along with that. We also turned in our spelling books and did our spelling crosswords and we took a spelling test. We also had Mrs. K come in and discuss Integrity.

Happy Thursday!
Today we had an inservice today so the kids were released at 12:20.
Here is what we did today:
In Mrs. D's class we worked on writing a letter to the fourth graders coming here next year. We completed a math fraction reducing sheet. We went to the library and we also worked on finishing up Number the Stars.
In Mr. H's class today we worked on connecting George Washington's Socks with our other language arts activity. We did an ABC order activity, we did a historical fiction writing activity. Spelling test tomorrow! We finished writing our letters to our 4th grade friends. We also completed a math fraction reducing sheet.
In Mr. P's class today we turned in our River Test's that we have written. We began reading Brian's Winter. We also completed a math fraction reducing sheet. We finished writing our letters to our 4th grade friends. We also worked on spelling pictures due tomorrow. We also went to the library.

Science: Today we completed a KWL on chapter 13 on the Forces of Motion. We also compelted the vocabulary words on page 403 due tomorrow with a vocab quiz on Friday.
Social Studies: Today we combined a lesson in LEAD and from our textbook dealing with the branches of government.
*We went to see the drama club play today and our students did a wonderful job as an audience and as actors.
In Mrs. D's class spelling unit 30 workbook pages are due tomorrow. Number the Stars activities are due on Friday as well!

Math: Today we worked on simplifying decimals and reducing fractions. Problem set 100 was assigned and is due on Tuesday. We are working on reducing fractions all week and will have a reducing quiz on Friday.
Science: Today we reviewed for our chapter 11 test on Matter. Test will be tomorrow. We will also take a second chance vocab quiz tomorrow as well.
Social Studies: Today we continued with LEAD where we discussed Freedom City and in social studies we discussed the Boston Tea Party.
In Mrs. D's class we continued to work on our Number the Stars book and projects. The book and projects should all be completed by Friday. We looked at our spelling workbook pages and they are due on Thursday. We went to the computer lab and library and we also continued to work on our comparison papers.
In Mr. H's class we read chapters 18 and 19 in George Washington's Socks. We looked at our unit 30 review for this week in spelling. We discussed prepositions in English and we also had an in class writing assignment.

Happy Friday the 13th!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we reviewed dividing fractions and adding and subtracting decimals. BOB 96-99 was assigned and due on Monday. We also learned a new multiplication game as well.
Science: Today we reviewed our lesson 3 and 4 review pages and we worked on the chapter review. What we did not get done in class is homework. Test on Tuesday.
Social Studies: We observed a video on The Boston Tea Party.
In Mrs. D's class we took our unit 29 spelling test. We continued to work on our Number the Stars project. A writing assignment was given to compare the book Marika and Number the Stars. We also had a discussion on using the computer correctly.
In Mr. H's class we took our unit 29 spelling test. We read chapters 16-17 in George Washington's Socks. We also discussed Crispus Atticks and his role in the Revolutionary War. We reviewed prepositional Phrases.
In Mr P's class we took a spelling test, graded our spelling workbook pages and traded our spelling crossword puzzles. We discussed the different uses of quotation marks, for homework they need to write examples of things that are to be written in quotes such as poems and songs. We began writing our test questions and vocab questions today for The River. We also completed some writing to learn activities.

Science: Today we finished talking about mixtures and solutions. We also had a chapter 11 lessons 3 and 4 review. Mr. H's class did the chapter review and will have their test on Monday. The other two classes will have their tests on Tuesday.
Social Studies: Today we continued with our LEAD program dealing with laws.
In Mrs. D's class we continued to work on our Number the Stars projects. We should be working on the 4th section of the book by now. We turned in our spelling workbook pages and our test will be tomorrow. We went to the library and continued our work with adjectives.

Here is what we did today:
Math: We discussed Ratios today in class. Problem set 97 was assigned and is due on Wednesday.
Science: Today we discussed how phase changes occur. We are looking at a test on next Monday.
Social Studies: Today we completed a lesson in LEAD called Rules or Laws.
In Mrs. D's class we worked on Number the Stars section 3. We worked on our workbook pages for spelling as well. We also listened to the PHS Jazz Band perform as well.
In Mr. H's class we read chapters 12 and 13 in George Washington's Socks. We took a spelling unit 29 pretest and the workbook pages are due on Thursday. We went to watch the Jazz Band perform as well.
In Mr. P's class we read chapters 18 and 19 in The River. We also wrote a comparison on how Brian was different in The River as opposed to in Hatchet. We completed 12 spelling sentences due tomorrow. We also went to the computer lab and went to hear the Jazz Band perform.

Science: Today we discussed how phase changes occur. We are looking at a test on next Monday.
Social Studies: Today we completed a lesson in LEAD called Rules or Laws.
In Mrs. D's class we worked on Number the Stars section 3. We worked on our workbook pages for spelling as well. We also listened to the PHS Jazz Band perform as well.
In Mr. H's class we read chapters 12 and 13 in George Washington's Socks. We took a spelling unit 29 pretest and the workbook pages are due on Thursday. We went to watch the Jazz Band perform as well.
In Mr. P's class we read chapters 18 and 19 in The River. We also wrote a comparison on how Brian was different in The River as opposed to in Hatchet. We completed 12 spelling sentences due tomorrow. We also went to the computer lab and went to hear the Jazz Band perform.

Happy Monday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: Today we worked on dividing fractions. Problem set 96 was assigned and is due on Tuesday.
Science: Today we reviewed our vocab tests from Friday and our chapter 11 lesson 1 and 2 review. Homework read lesson 3 for tomorrow.
Social Studies: Today we watched a DVD on one person's perspective of the events of the Revolutionary War. We also completed a lesson in LEAD.
In Mrs. D's class we took our spelling unit 29 pretest. We went to the computer lab and the book fair. We also worked on our Number the Stars book. We also had our LEAD speaker.
In Mr. H's class we read chapters 10 and 11 in George Washington's Socks. We introduced the spelling words for unit 29. We also had our LEAD speaker.
In Mr. P's class we did a chapter 1-16 review sheet in Hatchet. We also read chapter 17 and 18. We wrote our spelling words 5 times each. Workbook pages are due on Friday and we also took a spelling test. We also visited the book fair and we also had our LEAD speaker.

Science: We took a vocab test, we discussed salt and we had a chapter 11 lessons 1 and 2 sheet due on Monday.
Social Studies: We read about the Boston Massacre and the role that Chrispus Attics had in it.
*We had our first LEAD presentor today. We all went to the gym and listened to a Plymouth police officer.
In Mrs. D's class we took our unit 28 spelling test. We also worked on our Number the Stars book and packet. We went to the book fair one more time as well.
In Mr. H's class we took a spelling unit 28 test. We read George Washington's Socks up through chapter 7. We completed a pargraph correcting sheet. We also completed a writing activity as well.

Science: Today we discussed how atoms combine. We also discussed electrons, neutrons and protons.
Social Studies: Today we watched and discussed a DVD dealing with the events that lead up to the Revolutionary War. We read pages 280-285.
In Mrs. D's class we went to the book fair. There were a lot of great books. We turned in our spelling books and we worked on putting things in our binders. We also continued to work on Number the Stars. We also completed band instrument testing.

Math: Today we discussed reciprocals ask your child about what a reciprocal is and what we did today. Problem set 95 was assigned and is due on Thursday. Test tomorrow.
Science: We finished our discussion on properties of matter. Vocab test on Friday.
Social Studies: We finished lesson 1 and began lesson 2 in our LEAD books dealing with being in someone else's shoes.
In Mrs. D's class we continued to work on Number the Stars. We had some discussion about this time period in history and continued to work on our projects. We worked on putting some more items in our writing portfolio as well as continuing to work on subject and verb agreement.
In Mr. H's class we read in George Washington's Socks. We worked on our spelling words books due tomorrow. We went to the computer lab.

In Mrs. D's class we worked on our spelling workbook pages due on Thursday. We began reading Number the Stars. The students each have a packet that we will be completing this during this novel. We also worked on a new writing activity.

Science: Today we reviewed our tests from before Spring Break. We filled out parts of an SQ4R sheet on chapter 11 dealing with properties of matter. We also did the vocabulary words on page 339 due tomorrow and tested on Friday.
Social Studies: We had a recap of Arlington. We also had a recap of current events as well.
In Mrs. D's class we took a spelling pretest over unit 28. We went to the library and computer lab. We did some sharing about our spring break. We began readign Number the Stars as well.
