Happy Monday!
Here is what we did today:
Math: The students have been very patient as we test to see where we should begin in the math book for this year. We have some very bright students. The students also worked on a multiplication sheet when they finished with their test. Most of them finished this in class.
Science/Health: We read lesson 1 in health on self concept and we discussed the topics as we read.
Social Studies: We wrote an essay on what our expectations are for social studies. We also read pages 2 - 5 in their textbook.
In Mrs. D's class we read chapters 3 and 4 from The City of Ember. We completed a story map and we answered comprehension questions. We also took a spelling pretest over unit one. We worked on Writer's Express book activity. We are trying to get acquainted with this great book.
In Mr. H's class we read pages 32-52 in the Wishgiver. We previewed our spelling and will take a pretest tomorrow. We also did a paragraph correction sheet. We also wrote about our school year so far.
In Mr. P's class we previewed our spelling list and will have a pretest Wednesday. We worked on common and proper nouns and had a worksheet to complete. We completed a get to know your book sheet in our Writer's Express book. We previewed "Michelle Kwan: Hart of a Champion, and discussed fact and opinion.
Spelling words: This weeks words are: operate, claim, needle, beneath, foggy, gasoline, eighty, freight, complete, scary, neighbor, daily, screen, police, explain, feature, straight, memory, contain, populate
